Hi Fabrizio

I think this is an old one. I see that xrd.sh sets up a cron job to monitor
xrootd

# Remove old trash
0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55       *       *       *       *      
/opt/xrootd/scripts/xrootd/xrd.sh -c >> /opt/xrootd/logs/xrd.watchdog.log
2>&1

the problem is that it needs to direct output to
BASEDIR/logs/xrd.watchdog.log, while it's using XRDINSTALLDIR instead...

Must be an easy thing to locate and fix...
