Dear Colleagues, The House and Senate have passed a sixth Continuing Resolution. It goes into effect on March 19, 2011 and funds the government for an additional three weeks, in the process cutting an additional $6 billion from the FY2011 budget. Next week the House and Senate are in recess. This is a district work period, so in principle, the House members themselves will be in their local district offices. This would be an excellent time to ask for a meeting with the congressperson or a staff member who handles science and technology issues and inform yourself about their position on upcoming budget decisions.
