URL: <http://savannah.cern.ch/bugs/?81359> Summary: Xrd Posix Preload missing in the RPM Project: XROOTD Submitted by: ljanyst Submitted on: 2011-04-21 16:13 Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: ljanyst Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Fixed by commit(s): _______________________________________________________ Details: From: Douglas Strain <[log in to unmask]> Date: 2011/4/20 Subject: libXrdPosixPreload I was wondering if I could find a little more information about the Xrd Posix Preload libraries. I noticed that they were included in the 3.0.2 version but not in 3.0.3. Upon investigation, I can see they were commented out of the makefile with the comment: # TODO: solve libXrdPosixPreload build problem. The classic build "solves" the # multiply defined symbol problems between XrdPosixPreload.cc and # XrdPosixPreload32.cc by compiling the latter with -fPIC, so compiler # behavior somehow deals with the symbol clash. This is surely a source # of portability problems. I do not yet know hot to best solve it here -varbatim- I was wondering what the eventual plan is with this. We need them for the dsi module and to use with GridFTP. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.cern.ch/bugs/?81359> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by LCG Savannah http://savannah.cern.ch/
