Hello - We have recently added support for xrootd in the Parrot virtual file system. It's in an experimental state, and we invite anyone interested to give it a try and let us know of your experience. Briefly, Parrot transparently attaches to unmodified applications, allowing them to access a variety of remote file services (such as xrootd) to access data, libraries, and programs. No special privileges are needed to run parrot, so It is typically used to assist batch jobs running in foreign systems.
