Thanks for the suggestion! It's weird, as I had the exact same settings for
all the partitions in /etc/fstab. Plus, I'm using a fully up-to-date SL5
installation.
Still, after I re-mounted all the disks with explicitly specifying this
option, things started to work normally. I don't know why I was seeing the
issue, but now it seems to be fixed.
