Follow-up Comment #1, bug #81715 (project xrootd):

Hi Mattias,

   I fully agree with you on the issue of the static libs, we have some
problems with them, not only related to security. It is being actively worked
on and will be resolved in the next months.

   Thanks for the patches, I would definitely like to apply many of them. Are
you the author?
