Hi Lukasz,
with the -R option it does not seg fault to me, but it hangs with messages
like these printed out continuously:

I'm using xrdcp version 3.0.4.
The LD_LIBRARY_PATH is simply
:/afs/cern.ch/sw/lcg/external/root/5.21.04/slc4_amd64_gcc34/root/lib
