I am using a pre-release of XRootD 3.1.0 from the git repository:
xrootd-client-3.1.0-0.2.git.e587830.osg.xu.i386.rpm
This version seems to have a problem with the PosixPreload libraries.
I am not exactly sure what is going on, but if GridFTP is started with the
lines:
export XROOTD_VMP="fermicloud044:1094:/mnt/xrootd=/tmp"
export XROOTDLIB=/usr/lib64
export LD_PRELOAD=$XROOTDLIB/libXrdPosixPreload.so
I get:
Error: Failed to initialize:
globus_i_ftp_control_cli!
Furthermore, when I put those lines in my environment, nothing works anymore,
ie running ls:
ls: write error: Can not access a needed shared library
The libraries do exist:
[root@fermicloud040 ~]# ls -la /usr/lib64/libXrdPosixPreload.so*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Sep 20 15:57 /usr/lib64/libXrdPosixPreload.so ->
libXrdPosixPreload.so.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 Sep 20 15:57 /usr/lib64/libXrdPosixPreload.so.0
-> libXrdPosixPreload.so.0.0.1
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 31816 Sep 20 11:07
/usr/lib64/libXrdPosixPreload.so.0.0.1
This behavior does not happen in XRootD 3.0.5.
