It looks like it's building just fine. Is this package really so brittle
that build flags deeply affect functionality?
I was going to wait on debugging further until Wei had some advice about
getting debug logs from this preload library - otherwise, we don't know
anything beyond "doesn't work".
Can you send more info about the GridFTP/xrootd plugin? That's the approach
I've taken for HDFS, and it's been less problematic in terms of building at
least...
