OK, get me a gdb core file of the cmsd there the prep is running. The prep outlives the initiator because it's a background task. So, he m,ust have entered it at some point in the past. It just seems it can't complete. To deepen the mystery - I got in contact with Slava, and the associated process on cmswn1926 has been dead for days. Brian
