1)it would be useful to have a way to have an option to get the version we
use, e.g. xrdcp --version .
2) which are the "broken" versions? ATLAS is using
/afs/cern.ch/project/gd/apps/atlas/slc3/local/bin/xrdcp , but I don't know
how to check
