Hi Dirk, Steve Traylen is the responsible for lxplus installations and he prefers taking the packages from EPEL. He has very good reasons for that: the ROOT version from EPEL is built against the xrootd version from EPEL and taking xrootd from different source caused problems in the past. I cannot forward you the exchange with Mattias because there was none. He has never responded to any of my emails.
