Update of bug #91141 (project xrootd):

                Severity:              3 - Normal => 2 - Minor
                Priority:              5 - Normal => 1 - Later
                  Status:                    None => Postponed

Follow-up Comment #3:

OK, I see the divergence. When you configure check sum with a script then
failures do not generate an error from xrootd (though they are caught later
by the driving application). If you configure check sums to use the internal
calculation (the preferred method) then you do get an error when it fails
(though error is not very descriptive).

I'll leave this open at a low priority as the new mechanism does work in a
logically proper way and the old mechanism has been around this way for eons
without any previous complaint.
