Do you set some paths in the scripts?
The log shows:
120227 11:46:01 001 Xrd: main: (C) 2004-2011 by the XRootD collaboration.
Version: v3.1.0
whereas this output for 3.1.1-rc1 is:
120301 20:03:46 001 Xrd: main: (C) 2004-2011 by the XRootD collaboration.
Version: v3.1.1-rc1
