Follow-up Comment #5, bug #92620 (project xrootd): Hi Carlos, There are a few options: 1) We tried having xrootd use libdcap directly. This was relatively unsuccessful; libdcap is not very thread-safe and does not recover cleanly. 2) Xrootd has a component called "frm", which can pull files in to a local disk cache using an arbitrary command (for example, you can write a wrapper around dccp). This is covered thoroughly in the documentation. 3) dCache has an Xrootd door; you can have xrootd either redirect clients directly to the xrootd door or proxy the xrootd protocol.
