I am able to copy the file that is stuck from the individual files into /tmp
for each of the sources:

I am also able to use extreme copy to local disk.
In my scripts the output is the storage URL
root://<local node>/<local path>/file name
I will repeat the test that is hanging again not to disk via root://....
directive but just to /tmp
