Hi Matevz, ROOT currently cannot build with the Xrootd HEAD because, as you found out, the version detection stopped working at a certain point with untagged versions (when it moved to vDate-Hash), and I did not fix it yet. I will do it asap. In the meantime, a workaround is to edit the XrdVersion.hh file and set by hand XrdVERSION to something like "v3.2.1" .
