Announcement: 1st ESTB User Meeting at SLAC on August 23rd, 2012

Dear Colleagues,

The 1st ESTB User Meeting will take place on Thursday August 23rd 2012 at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Menlo Park, California, USA, for discussions of the new electron test beam at SLAC. The test beam will provide the full range of electron energies up to 15 GeV, and intensities from single particles to 0.25 nC/ bunch, and will be useful for detector R&D and accelerator development.

At this 1st ESTB User Meeting we will present the status of the End Station A Test Beam, and future plans. SLAC will introduce the proposal evaluation and selection process. Users (for FY2013) will present their proposed experiments and SLAC will learn who is interested in using the test beam, and hear what potential users need in terms of beam properties and infrastructure support. At the same time formal proposal can be submitted for beam time starting from October 15th 2012.

Registration (no fees) will be open soon. Please indicate whether you will attend in person or remotely.

The meeting is conveniently scheduled just before SLAC’s 50th anniversary celebration. The meeting will be held in the Sycamore Conf. Room in B040 Room 195 (*). The meeting will include a tour of the End Station A facility. We will provide remote participation capabilities for both listening and presentation, and schedule the meeting at convenient times for both our Asian and European colleagues.
