Hi,

this is a very good question and an important one to discuss. I put 250 as an example, because it is probably the upper limit for any practical circular e+e- machine. If we are sure that we want, and can realistically accomplish more - it eliminates such an option and simplifies the discussion. This is why it is important to have such factors discussed and collect the arguments and opinions..

Best..

Adam

Hi,

This is Yen-Chu Chen of CDF. I went to the Muon Collider meeting some time
ago but got too busy to continue.

For sure after the discovery of a Higgs like particle such accelerator
proposal
is very interesting and important for the future.

However 250 GeV sounds a very well focused energy to study Higgs particle.
How about 400 GeV, which allows both Higgs and top quark physics? Generating
top quark pairs via electron-positron annihlation, together with a good
detector,
can produce a very precise measurement of the top quark mass. The production
asymmetry of top quark can also be studied in e- e+ (or mu- mu+) collision.

Maybe more expansive but we pay more and gain much more.

Best regards, Yen-Chu

This kind of options are likely to surface at Snowmass and more work is done in a coherent fashion - more useful the discussions at Snowmass will be.
