I am in favor of using xrootd-l for this purpose (if you want a dedicated mailing-list, it is also possible). I am hoping that this will eventual evolve into a tool that xrootd community can use to monitoring the xrootd cluster's activities beyond what Ganglia can provide, and can easily consume the output of this tool using their favorite script language, db, web tailored to their needs --- I am waiting for that (not for FAX).
