Initial OSG testing of the xrootd 3.2.3 failed when xrootdfs is used.
I am using an extremely simple test setup. One node with xrootd server on it
with configuration /etc/xrootd/xrootd-clustered.cfg:
all.export /tmp stage
all.role server
all.manager localhost 3121
frm.xfr.copycmd /bin/cp /dev/null $PFN
all.adminpath /var/spool/xrootd
all.pidpath /var/run/xrootd
The second node I try to mount and it hangs when using mount and /etc/fstab
as well as if I try to use xrootdfs manually. xrdcp works though:
[root@fermicloud121 log]# xrdcp /bin/sh
root://fermicloud120:1094//tmp/example
[xrootd] Total 0.76 MB |====================| 100.00 % [inf MB/s]
[root@fermicloud121 log]# xrootdfs /mnt/xrootd -o
rdr=xroot://fermicloud120.fnal.gov:1094//tmp/ -o uid=xrootd -d -f -s
... [This just hangs forever]
On the first node, this is all I get on the xrootd.log:
120904 14:16:02 2449 cms_Finder: Waiting for cms path
/var/spool/xrootd/.olb/olbd.admin
120904 14:16:30 2459 XrootdXeq: root.6374:8@fermicloud121 disc 0:00:00
120904 14:16:36 2442 XrootdXeq: root.6379:22@fermicloud121 login
Not sure if the cms messages are important. Starting cmsd didn't seem to
change the behavior.
I noticed there is a similar problem in bug 96688, but I am guessing that
this is a separate issue relating to the new 3.2.3 version, as this
configuration worked for me in 3.2.2.
