Hi Brian,
Finally this afternoon I could dig a bit (sorry, I was in some tutorials all
the rest of week).
First I tried to reproduce the problem on lxplus6 with the AFS xrootd
installation provided by LCG
(/afs/cern.ch/sw/lcg/external/xrootd/3.2.4/x86_64-slc6-gcc46-opt) and I could
not managed.
Then I have recompiled on the same machine my own binaries and with these
ones I have the same problem you have.
The openssl libs at runtime are the same in the two cases; but the AFS builds
have been done on different machine on which I have just got access.
I'll to try now to understand what's going on.
