Hello Norman,

Good to know that Jas3 allows us to look at stdhep files. I hadn't realized that. 

Is there any library that can be used to open up and read the stdhep files? All I found in a cursory look was a 50 page FORTRAN based manual going on and on about the common block definitions...    Presumably slic uses some kind of library?

For creating events, MadGraph is often complete overkill, but a simple particle gun not sufficiently flexible. So something in between could be useful.
