Follow-up Comment #1, bug #98119 (project xrootd):
i think this will make the implementation cleaner. However I do realize there
is a problem:
What if the site doesn't have the file? We would like to do a failover to
upper level redirector. Doing so requires dCache xrootd door to implement
xrootd.redirector.
Note: with current helper cmsd/xrootd, we can't do this either because dCache
xrootd door's response to xrootd locatesingle is always positive, even if it
doesn't have the file. But this is a plain bug. The reason we have to mount
/pnfs for cmsd is also because of this bug (so we can't use pss.origin)
