Follow-up Comment #1, bug #99283 (project xrootd):

Who in the world is allowing spaces in a path and why is it necessary? We
have a bigger issue here. Space is not a valid character in a file path from
xrootd's perspective. Even if xrd did allow it; it's unlikely that it would
ever be passed through via the server. Who is behind this "new" idea that is
going to break tons of stuff.
