Follow-up Comment #2, bug #99283 (project xrootd):
It doesn't break anything on a standalone server:
xrdcp /etc/passwd "root://localhost:2000//tmp/a c/file"
[xrootd] Total 0.00 MB |====================| 100.00 % [inf MB/s]
[root@eosdevsrv1 mgm]# xrdcp "root://localhost:2000//tmp/a c/file" /tmp/
[xrootd] Total 0.00 MB |====================| 100.00 % [inf MB/s]
Since the server allows to do IO with this file users use it ...
but the admin command does not support it.
