Hopefully we are now converging.
The sentence on ILC is a bit of a mouthful. It mixes three different and
important points while neglecting to tell the
reader that the machine would collide electrons and positrons.
Suggest splitting it as follows. Not sure this suggestion is necessarily
the best. I think it should say detectors somewhere
- but that request from me that you incorporated ... has not made the
current sentence any more digestible.
"A global effort has now completed the technical design of the
International Linear Collider (ILC) accelerator
and detectors that will provide these capabilities."
=>
"A global effort has now completed the technical design of the
International Linear Collider (ILC).
This accelerator and its detectors will provide these physics
capabilities with e+e- collisions."
(or perhaps one could use a ; or : and make it one sentence).
I think it is important to make it clear that the basic ILC program is
e+e-. There is also the possibility of
e-e-, e- gamma, and gamma gamma. Those are not excluded - but e+e- is
essential and sufficient for the
discussion here.
