Dear Ashutosh,
I understand that proceedings for the Snowmass meetings are currently in preparation, and many ATLAS authors are involved in this. I am writing to you in your role as the ATLAS contact for Snowmass.
PubCom and ATLAS management have discussed the special circumstances regarding ATLAS contributions to Snowmass.
Of course we understand that conveners of the individual Snowmass working groups will have to sign these proceedings. Thus we would suggest the following:
For published results there is no problem at all.
2. Indicate on the cover page that these are *proceedings* of Snowmass. As you can see in the publication policy we have different rules for "proceedings on behalf of ATLAS". Of course these proceedings are not on behalf of ATLAS but in any case it seems good to indicate clearly that these are proceedings to distinguish them from a review article.
3. If preliminary results have to be used say "with contributions from the ATLAS collaboration" at the end of the author list. (We are not sure about how CMS wants to handle this)
Could you please make sure that these suggestions are implemented for all articles that contain preliminary ATLAS results? If this is controversial please feel free to get back to me so we can try to work out a different compromise that complies with the ATLAS rules.
