Dear Christoph Anton Mitterer,

The implemented protocol relies on the private key being secured and these kind of checks are commonly done by applications somehow dealing with security (e.g. sshd). For service not running as root the protocol foresees dedicated service certificate whose ownership is assigned to user under which the service runs. 
Could you please specify who are these "people" who "don't want to make copies of hostcerts for each service they run"?
