Hello Stuart,
Did you make sure you have a settings.xml file in ~/.m2/ as suggested on this page: https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/hpsg/Installing+HPS+Software
I have had trouble in the past with dependencies missing when building the software when I was missing this (though typically when building hps-detectors rather than hps-java).

Hi Omar,
I've started again from a clean install though, shouldn't downloading from scratch have fixed things? Or is there something specific I need to do to completely remove the old install?
Cheers,
Stuart

You need to update your local copy of hps-detectors as well. This should fix the issue.

Hi everyone,
I was trying to update my install of hps-java at the weekend, but the build fails with an error;
"Failed to execute goal on project hps-java: Could not resolve dependencies for project org.lcsim:hps-java:jar:1.8-SNAPSHOT: Could not find artifact org.lcsim:hps-detectors:jar:1.6-SNAPSHOT in lcsim-maven (http://lcsim.org/maven2) -> [Help 1]"
This is preceded by a warning;
"The POM for org.lcsim:hps-detectors:jar:1.6-SNAPSHOT is missing, no dependency information available"
Has anyone else had similar problems? I've also tried the (somewhat extreme) strategy of starting again from a clean install, and I get the same error. This has exhausted my limited list of strategies so I'm hoping someone can help.
Cheers,
Stuart
