Hmm, open source, persistent key-value store, just released by Facebook. 1 billion key/value pairs inserted in 103 minutes, 126K ops/sec reading http://rocksdb.org/ https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/wiki/Performance-Benchmarks For comparison, zookeeper is doing 7 inserts/sec on lsst-dbdev6, that is about 4 1/2 years to insert 1B records...
