Attendees: Bill, AndyH, Daniel, Serge, Fabrice, Jacek Serge: - mostly done with URSA-related work, switching back to LSST - reviewing mysqldb wrapper, then CSS (incl client) and data ingest/loading design on trac - then work on data ingest/loading prototype - refmatch - best to wait until new qserv structure is stable and on master branch Andy: - new xrootd client (without the part specifically for LSST) used for 4 months by CMS, no issues found - API (client and server) for LSST done, but not tested at all - need ~ 3 weeks of dedicated time to fully test/verify and tweak - busy switching xrootd to C11 now --> email location of existing version of APIs for LSST to qserv-l - planning to deliver stable/tested API end of March Side discussion about C11: - useful to get to point where our code compiles, even if we don't have immediate plans to switch, to avoid diverging too much, it'll simplify future migration Bill: - working on merging his tickets, merged code has issues with passing tests, most likely because of incorrectly loaded data (wrong metadata configuration used) - starting to work on log4cxx-based logging + python adapter Daniel: - scons all working - focusing on xldb report now - next: final scons cleanup, documentation, merging with master (non trivial, 2 months out of sync, and a lot of fixes are pushed to master now) - planning to be ready to push to master branch late January Jacek: - few days spent on xldb report - fault tolerance / consistency guarantees in CSS - ticket cleanup Fabrice: - a bit delayed/stuck with virtualenv - need eups expert to check the code - can start working on packaging qserv (new structure) Outstanding (non-deferred tickets): - Fabrice will go through his in the next few days - Daniel will go through his in January Releases: - cut release (early January): current prototype + 300-node-test fixes + Bill's changes,then tag and create branch "stable" - then do development on the master, even if we temporarily destabilize it - January - new structure with new build system - mysqldb wrapper - February - integration tests and new packaging system (Fabrice) - new logging (Bill) - central state system (Jacek) - data ingest (Serge) - unit testing (Daniel) Next meeting Jan 9 Happy Holidays!
