To just checkout the repository and build, I believe the following should work:
svn co svn://svn.freehep.org/hps/java/trunk hps_trunk
cd hps_trunk
mvn clean install -DskipTests
For write access, you will need a username and password from Jeremy.
These would be needed at the time of checking out the repository in order to be
able to commit updates.
