@alja you can use XrdCl::Log if you want, but why would you want to mask the other stuff? If you have very verbose logging you can add your own topic (please make sure you follow the naming conventions and update the DefaultEnv class as well) otherwise just use the AppMsg topic, it was meant for this kind of stuff.
