Hi, we would like to dynamically query the xrootd version that is installed in our DPM clusters, and I noted that the "query version" command just behaves like an echo, without answering with the version number. I tried with DPMs, EOS and plain xrootd servers, always the same. How can I get the version of the daemon? Here's a client trace of what happens: root://lxfsra04a04.cern.ch:1094//> query 7 version 140220 17:43:34 26673 Xrd: SendGenCommand: Sending command Query ================= DUMPING CLIENT REQUEST HEADER ================= ClientHeader.streamid = 0x01 0x00 ClientHeader.requestid = kXR_query (3001) ClientHeader.header.dlen = 7 =================== END CLIENT HEADER DUMPING =================== 140220 17:43:34 26673 Xrd: ReadPartialAnswer: Reading a XrdClientMessage from the server [lxfsra04a04.cern.ch:1094]... 140220 17:43:34 26675 Xrd: XrdClientMessage::ReadRaw: sid: 1, IsAttn: 0, substreamid: 0 140220 17:43:34 26675 Xrd: XrdClientMessage::ReadRaw: Reading data (8 bytes) from substream 0 140220 17:43:34 26675 Xrd: ReadRaw: Reading from lxfsra04a04.cern.ch:1094 140220 17:43:34 26675 Xrd: BuildMessage: posting id 1 ======== DUMPING SERVER RESPONSE HEADER ======== ServerHeader.streamid = 0x01 0x00 ServerHeader.status = kXR_ok (0) ServerHeader.dlen = 8 ========== END DUMPING SERVER HEADER =========== 140220 17:43:34 26673 Xrd: XrdClientAdmin::Query: Query(7, 'version') returned 'version (np+' version --- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/xrootd/xrootd/issues/85 ######################################################################## Use REPLY-ALL to reply to list To unsubscribe from the XROOTD-DEV list, click the following link: https://listserv.slac.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=XROOTD-DEV&A=1
