Hi,

Trying to go through our doc on the Confluence today about setting up JLab computing access.

I simply missed the fact that one can SSH to 'jlabl1' which was actually on the page here:

https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/hpsg/JLAB+registration+and+obtaining+a+JLAB+account

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this page might be missing a key piece of information about batch system access. Doesn't one's account need to be a member of a group like 'clashps' for batch access to be allowed in the first place? This was the feedback I got from the help desk. If so then I'll add that information to our Wiki.

Thanks!

Connecting to 'jlabl1' does seem to work fine.

I'm not sure I understand you on the ifarm connection. Why does it matter on which machine you generate the SSH key?

Jeremy,

You should ssh to jlabl1 not jlab1.
As for ifarm, go to ifarm1102, for ssh key it matters on which machine you generate.
