Uhm I am puzzled, I am looking into
bool XrdClient::Open(kXR_unt16 mode, kXR_unt16 options, bool doitparallel) {
(which prints the lines:

It does inside:

which eventually seems to get a random one from a list, and try other ones (the else) before another attempt …
problem is that I see in the logs only one
Open: Trying to connect to xrootd-redic.pi.infn.it:1094. Connect try 7
before it sleeps and retries the full set.
So I cannot get the logic: it shoud do
- if 2 URLs are availabe
- try a random one
-if not ok
- try the second
- if all fails
- sleep and restart
instead I cannot see the
-if not ok
- try the second
in the debug printouts, not even in our out:

I would like a way to print out
- urlArray.Size()
- urlArray.GetARandomUrl(seed)
please note another thing:
unsigned int seed = XrdOucCRC::CRC32((const unsigned char*)unfo.File.c_str(), unfo.File.length());
so per file always the same random number is spit out, is this wanted? clearly to have this working one needs the “else” to be operational above, otherwise there is neither randomness, not retry ….
I think I am going to recompile xrootd now;)
