OK, I just looked at the code. Yes, the loop is wrong and can give you an infinite loop. I suppose remove it is better than leaving it the way it is because an error gives you a loop and returning that error to the caller when the caller expects a return to indicate plain-old-wake-up could yield random results. However, if that is the case and the caller simply check if the condition were true, then the caller would then create an infinite loop. So, I don't immediately see the harm of removing the loop.
