Hello All, The xml file is parsed and compared against the schema to make sure that the contents are valid. The default schemas are on the web. Having them local can speed up this step. https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/ilc/How+can+I+make+SLIC+look+for+XML+schemas+in+a+local+directory init_ilcsoft.sh sets GDML_SCHEMA_DIR, but you might want to double-check it.
