This usually indicates some kind of mismatch between the recon and the simulated geometry....

Which input files to the recon are you using?  What version of slic?  Exactly which geometry files?  Are the geometries unmodified from the SVN copies?  Is the steering file unmodified from SVN?  Is your HPS Java up to date?

If you type 'mvn' in trunk/integration-tests do all those tests pass?  Or do they fail with a similar error?

Does the same error occur if you run recon on older slic output files while using a completely clean copy of hps-distribution?  (e.g. including no local changes)

It's in the steering file

I don’t see where you are specifying the input file…?

java -jar hps-distribution.jar -r /org/hps/steering/readout/HPS2014ReadoutToLcio.lcsim -i in.slcio -DoutputFile=readout

Hello,
when running the readout simulation I get this error

I'm running it on some SLIC outputs I've produced locally. It is just beam background simulated with V6, V7, and V8 geometry, always getting the same error.

Any suggestion?
