Digits have been allowed as starting characters since 1989. Are you saying that xrootd rejects the relaxed restrictions indicated in RFC-1123? One aspect of host name syntax is hereby changed: the restriction on the first character is relaxed to allow either a letter or a digit. Host software MUST support this more liberal syntax. Host software MUST handle host names of up to 63 characters and SHOULD handle host names of up to 255 characters. ``` Full text: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1123 --- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/xrootd/xrootd/issues/159#issuecomment-62654423 ######################################################################## Use REPLY-ALL to reply to list To unsubscribe from the XROOTD-DEV list, click the following link: https://listserv.slac.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=XROOTD-DEV&A=1
