Ah, the problem here is that there is only one network stack. We didn't anticipate running IPv4-only code along side IPv6 code in one executable. Is there a way to tell that the dlopen() on XrdClient is merely aesthetic? I'll take a look whether we can move the IP setting libXrdClient to a dynamic section rather having done at static initialization time.
