Hi Andy,

I am a bit confused about which rpm should I test ? Most recent rpm version says 4.0.4-1. Are you suggesting me to try the source code rather than rpm ?

I looked in here,

Hi Tapas,

Great, you can find the git head repos available via yum from our web page. Specifically, in the page

http://xrootd.org/dload.html

look for

Testing: xrootd-testing-slc5.repo, xrootd-testing-slc6.repo

The above are git head which is pretty close to R4.1. I can give direct links if you would prefer.

Hi Andy,

Yes, I can do some tests for you guys, sometime tomorrow. We are running SL6 version on all our nodes.

Thanks

Hi Tapas,

No, OSG does not have a version with this patch. If your up to it, you could run git head via a source release or I can supply you with our internal RPM?s (just give me the SLC versions you need). Of course, that would also help us by performing additional testing <wlEmoticon-smile[1].png>

P.S. Only the redirectors that accepts supervisors need this patch.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the reply. We haven?t enabled blacklisting in our xrootd configuration, unless this is something enabled by default.
Since we are relying on OSG packaging, I guess there is no easy fix on our side without waiting for the 4.1.  Do you know if OSG provides a version with this patch applied ?

Hi Tapas,

Yes, this is a known bug and will be corrected in 4.1. If you have enabled blacklisting (i.e. cms.blacklist directive) you should remove it. The bug was fixed with this patch:

P.S. The NODELAY error message is also suppressed in 4.1 ? it causes no harm.

Subject: Login: localhost login failed; blacklisted

Dear Xrootd Developers,

Here at T2_US_Wisconsin, we are using xroot-4.0.4 OSG 32 released version. We are seeing problems with cmsd.log for all of our supervisor nodes.

/var/log/xrootd/cmsd.log repeats these messages,

141120 15:19:47 12849 setOpts: Unable to set socket NODELAY; operation not supported
141120 15:19:47 12849 Inet: Accepted connection from 7@localhost
141120 15:19:47 12849 Login: localhost login failed; blacklisted

and /var/log/xrootd/xrootd.log repeats this one :

141120 15:35:23 12755 cms_Login: localhost login failed; localhost is blacklisted

As a result we have limited number of servers without the supervisors.  All our xrootd servers, redirector and supervisors have dual stack IPv6/v4 network.
Any help to understand and solve the problem is appreciated. Let us know if you need more information from us.

Thanks
-Tapas
