That's a 64-bit JDK. It runs on 64-bit machines. jlabl1, 2 are 32-bit; 3, 4 are 64-bit. "file" will tell you what architecture a binary is built for. "uname -a" will tell you what architecture your machine is running. These are standard Unix utilities. It seems the ifarm and jlabl machines are OK, but I don't know about the online systems. I cannot log into them from here, or at least, I don't know how. If these do not have Java 7, I am not sure how easy or hard is would be to get it installed. RedHat 5/Centos 5, comes with Java 6. I think Centos 6 comes with Java. > > Best, > Maurik > > On Dec 2, 2014, at 7:53 PM, McCormick, Jeremy I. <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>> wrote: > > Okay, so I found this JDK from jlabl1 in our group area > > /u/group/hps/hps_soft/java/jdk1.7.0_45/ > > But shouldn?t we be using a standard installation maintained by the JLAB admins? > > On Dec 2, 2014, at 4:51 PM, McCormick, Jeremy I. <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>> wrote: > > Hi, > > I?m having an interesting time trying to build HPS Java on a JLAB machine using Java and Maven. > > I try from ifarm where I find a 1.7 JDK in /usr but?. > > There is no internet access to any of the Maven repositories!
