If you've updated and re-checked out from SVN, any jar file you have named
"hps-distribution-3.0.2-SNAPSHOT-bin jar" is out of date and incompatible
with any steering files you checked out of SVN. You need to do a build
("mvn clean install" in the trunk directory), and that should make a new
jar file named hps-distribution-3.1-SNAPSHOT-bin jar.
