Emmanuel Gangler, in France, told me about following conference, in Berkeley.

Could it be interesting?

Cheers,

Fabrice

Hi all,

Here's a workshop announcement on issues in data movement and data management for cosmology, sponsored by ESnet and Internet2.

Look Who's Talking Now!...For the CrossConnects Cosmology Workshop
And Don't Forget to Register

A full agenda for the CrossConnects Workshop Improving Data Mobility & Management for International Cosmology is now available! With more than 12 talks from specialists around the world, this two-day workshop will be a hub for technology, pipelines, instruments, and software related to cosmology, astronomy, and computing.

>> Day 1 will cover astronomy-driven challenges with the keynote kick-off given by Dr. Peter Nugent on the Palomar Transient Factory. Day 1's observational data challenges will discuss data management for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, among other topics and projects.

>> Day 2 will focus on cosmology and simulation data challenges as related to the Planck mission simulations, with the keynote given by Dr. Salman Habib on simulations and the "data big crunch." Day 2 will also cover data-intensive processing at data centers and university campuses.

February is less than a month out! Register for the CrossConnects Workshop now! Registration is limited to 100 attendees and is $200 including breakfast, lunch and refreshments for both days.

For housing during the workshop, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory recommends local hotels for nearby access to the workshop. Transportation information is available on the workshop website as well.

See you in February!
