OK, I see that this is due to improper handling of an IPv6 redirect list. So, it's a bug. The only way to bypass this is to add '-I v4' command line option to the xrootd/cmsd start-up. Sort of defeats the IPv6 option for you until we can get this fixed, sigh. It would be helpful if you could provide a cmsd gcore of the manager (cmsxrootd.hep.wisc.edu).

Now, you mentioned that after a while the cmsd crashed. If that core file is still available we'd like to have it :-)
