A lot of information about the background items mentioned can be found here:
https://confluence.slac.stanford.edu/display/hpsg/Finding+Monte+Carlo+data+at+JLab

Basically, when I say 'beam background' I'm referring to what is described under 'SLIC output' on that page, which mixes what comes out of the first three 'primary generators' in the way described. The only thing not mentioned I think is what is in 'hadrons'. According to the slic output, (anti)protons, (anti)neutrons, kaons, pis, and lambda particles appear to be included.

All three ingredients (scattered beam, hadrons, and tridents) can be found in separate directories on tape if you need them, as well as any intermediate files during the simulation process, but the finished files I am referring to are the reconstructed files of the mixed background with assigned tracks, located in the recon directory. 'Singles' and 'pairs' refers to the trigger setup, i.e. if things like coincidence cuts are included. Pairs more closely simulates the experiment where pairs of clusters are wanted, but singles contain a lot more events which may be more useful for things like energy calibrations.

Please let me know if anything is unclear. We need to update the confluence page, and your feedback would help.
Bradley

Dear Bradley,

Could you please got describe in more details what are
1. scattered beam
2. hadrons
3. unbiased tridents

What do you mean when wrote about single and pair triggers?

Thanks,
Valery

Subject: 1.05 Monte Carlo

1.05 GeV background Monte Carlo (scattered beam + hadrons + unbiased tridents) is now available on tape (/mss/hallb/hps/production) in both .slcio and dst format. There are ~100 files each of single and pair triggers. The most up-to-date files are those labelled with '3.3.3-20150620'; this version makes a copy of the recon clusters so that both sets, before and after trajectory corrections, are kept. If anyone needs anything else, please let me know.

Brad
