I think one of the things here I need  is to have it use the conditions DB for everything but the alignment constants. 

If I specify -R 0 in the evio converter it fails because of not finding this stuff but what I really wanted was a way of saying: “use the compact instead of alignment constants from the DB” but use the DB (or whatever the default is for recon) for everything else.
