Something is telling me DM-2930 might be connected with the issues we are chasing - if we restart mysqld after we run *a certain combination of* queries, this will leave xrootd (or things near xrootd) in somewhat inconsistent state. I am saying “somewhat” because many queries will continue to run, but some (I think it has to be a query with spatial constraint) fails. It should not be too-hard to debug it because it can be very easily reproduced on a single node. I think it is worth a shot.
